Explanation

The amendment could result in a minimal cost to the Department of Labor (DOL) associated with overtime or part-time staff to investigate and pursue gender wage claims. The bill allows the labor commissioner to investigate employee work and operations and take actions as reasonably necessary to determine compliance with the law.

The amendment could also result in a minimal revenue loss associated with removing the $200 fine for each violation of the bill's provisions.
