OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment requires the Comptroller to issue an annual financial condition statement for the state health plans established by the underlying bill. It is anticipated the Office of the State Comptroller will incur additional administrative costs in order to accomplish this requirement, and it is unknown to what extent the amendment's provision will result in the increased use of contracted accounting and actuarial services. As the provision is not effective until February 1, 2011, any fiscal impact would not be incurred until FY 11.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose. In general, fiscal impacts are based upon a variety of informational sources, including the analyst's professional knowledge. Whenever applicable, agency data is consulted as part of the analysis, however final products do not necessarily reflect an assessment from any specific department.
