Explanation

The amendment strikes sections 511 and 513 of the underlying bill as amended by House Amendment Schedule “A” (LCO 7018) . This amendment eliminates provisions requiring the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) to reduce energy costs in state buildings by 10% by January 1, 2010, which eliminates the potentially significant savings to state agencies identified in the fiscal note on House Amendment Schedule “A”. Additionally, this will eliminate the potentially significant costs agencies may have incurred to achieve such consumption goals and a cost of $37, 500 for OPM to coordinate such efforts by the January 1, 2010 deadline.
