AMENDMENT

File Copy No.: 729

House Calendar No.: 474

OFA Fiscal Note

State Impact: See Below

Municipal Impact: See Below

Explanation

The amendment requires the General Assembly to pass legislation implementing the separation of petitioning towns from probate districts established under the bill provided any such town reimburses the Probate Court Administration Fund (PCAF) for premiums paid for judges' and employees' health care coverage and retains proceeds and responsibility for the operation of any probate court within such district. To the extent that such legislation is enacted, there is a potential savings to the PCAF and a corresponding cost to any petitioning town.
