AN ACT CONCERNING THE INSTALLATION OF "RED LIGHT CAMERAS" AT MUNICIPAL INTERSECTIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That municipalities be authorized to install automated red light cameras to assist in traffic law enforcement and deter motor vehicle operators from going through red lights.

Statement of Purpose:

To install cameras at traffic intersections that will take pictures of vehicles that go through red lights, and such pictures will be used to issue tickets to the operators of such vehicle. The presence of such cameras may deter motor vehicle operators from going through red lights.
