AN ACT CONCERNING A MORATORIUM ON ARTIFICIAL TURF PLAYING FIELDS AND THE POSTING OF WARNING SIGNS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the use of funds of the state for the installation of any new artificial turf playing field until July 1, 2010, and to require that any such existing fields post a notice warning of the toxins contained in the rubber and advising athletes to wash their hands and clothes after playing on such fields.

Statement of Purpose:

To place a temporary moratorium on the state funding of artificial turf playing fields installations and to require existing fields to post a notice warning of the toxins contained in the rubber and advising athletes to wash their hands and clothes after playing on such fields.
