You asked about the number of inmates age 65 or older and their offenses.
The Office of Fiscal Analysis maintains a database of information provided by the Department of Correction. Based on this information, there were 132 people age 65 or older who were incarcerated on October 1, 2008. Of these 132 people, only one was female: a 65-year old woman incarcerated for 1st degree manslaughter. Table 1 shows the controlling offenses for inmates at each age.
