GUN TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE | ||

You asked how the state's gun trafficking task force has been funded since FY 08. You also want information on its current makeup and activities.
In both FY 08 and FY 09, the gun trafficking task force got $400,000 from the state.
The task force currently consists of the following personnel: one lieutenant commanding officer, two sergeants, six detectives, three local police officers, and one office assistant.
Table 1 shows the results of task force activities for Calendar Year 2007 through August 2008. Table 2 shows the statistics for “Operation Safe City,” a 2008 collaborative effort between the State Police and Hartford Police Department aimed at reducing crime in Hartford.
