DISCIPLINE DATA FOR BRIDGEPORT, HARTFORD, AND NEW HAVEN

By: Soncia Coleman, Associate Legislative Analyst

You asked for suspension, expulsion and arrest data for Bridgeport, Hartford, and New Haven students.

The tables below provide information on students arrested, suspended, or expelled during the 2006-07 school year (the most recent data available) as self-reported by school districts on the ED 166 form. While certain discipline data is available from prior years, the data is not necessarily comparable across years because districts were not always required to report the same information. (For instance, in 2003-04, school districts were required to report in school suspensions, out of school suspensions, and expulsions only for serious incidents.)

Additional disciplinary offense data is available at www.csde.state.ct.us/public/cedar/cedar/discipline/0607.htm. However, this site does not appear to provide arrest data.
