CONVICTIONS OF CLASS A AND B FELONIES

You asked about the percentage of convictions for class A and B felony charges.

The Office of Fiscal Analysis maintains a database of Judicial Branch information on criminal cases. Over the last six fiscal years (FY 02 to FY 07), the percentage of class A and B felony charges resulting in convictions varied. Conviction rates for class A felonies ranged from a low of 29.1% in FY 02 to a high of 39.7% in FY 07. Conviction rates for class B felonies ranged from a low of 34.5% in FY 02 to a high of 46.9% in FY 07.

The chart below displays this information. It show the number of charges for A and B felonies, whether they resulted in convictions or not, and the percentage of charges that resulted in convictions for each of the last six fiscal years.
