You asked if the ticket surcharge increase at Rentschler Field was initiated by the state or the stadium's management company.

According to Jean Henry, legislative liaison for the Office of Policy and Management (OPM), the state increased the ticket surcharge at Rentschler Field from $2 to $3 per ticket effective July 1, 2007, to conform with the surcharge for UConn events.

Henry noted that OPM is reviewing a reduced surcharge for up to four community events per year. Community events are held by community, charitable, or public service organizations that are unable to pay the standard rates and charges but are consistent with the stadium's public purpose.
