AN ACT CONCERNING COMPASSIONATE CARE FOR VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 19a of the general statutes be amended to require each licensed health care facility in this state that provides emergency medical services to follow the medical standard of care for treating victims of sexual assault, which shall include offering and dispensing emergency contraception on the premises of the licensed health care facility, with the acquiescence of the victim.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that victims of sexual assault receive compassionate care at licensed health care facilities in this state.
