AN ACT CONCERNING GRADUATION RATES AT INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) The president of The University of Connecticut and the chancellors of the community-technical college system and the Connecticut State University system, or their designees, shall develop a plan to increase graduation rates of students graduating in six years or less from the universities, including any branch campuses, and for students graduating in three years or less from the community-technical colleges, to rates that would be an average of such rates at peer institutions nationally. Not later than January 5, 2008, the president and chancellors, or their designees, shall report the plan to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to higher education in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
