AN ACT CONCERNING STATE REVENUE SHARING WITH MUNICIPALITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to provide that not less than one-quarter of one per cent of all sales taxes collected in specified regions shall be remitted by the state as revenue sharing to the municipality in which the sales tax is collected.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide municipalities with and alternative revenue source, spread costs out over a larger area and lessen the property tax burden.
