AN ACT CONCERNING A MUNICIPAL SHARE OF THE SALES TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to require that not less than one-quarter of one per cent of all sales taxes collected by the state shall be remitted quarterly as state revenue sharing to the municipality in which the sales tax was generated.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide an alternative revenue source for municipalities and lessen the property tax burden.
