AN ACT CONCERNING ALLOCATION OF A PORTION OF THE SALES TAX TO MUNICIPALITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to require retail businesses that file consolidated sales and use tax returns to disaggregate their data to show retail and sales use tax by town and that the Department of Revenue Services reallocate .25% of the 6% sales tax back to the town in which the tax was collected by the business.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide resources to towns that are regional destination points.
