Explanation

The amendment states that each collective bargaining agreement shall contain a provision increasing state employee co-pays from $3 to $6 for generic prescription drugs and from $6 to $12 for brand name prescription drugs. If the provisions of this amendment were to go into effect, a state savings of approximately $5 -$7 million annually (all funds) , based on FY 04 usage, would result. It should be noted that health care benefits are subject to collective bargaining.
