AN ACT CONCERNING CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING.
LCO No.: 8019
File Copy No.: 799
House Calendar No.: 423
OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment strikes the language of the bill and eliminates the associated fiscal impact. Instead, the amendment makes the changes described below.
The amendment creates the Criminal Justice Policy Planning Division within the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) to develop a plan for a more cohesive state criminal justice system, beginning in FY 07. It is anticipated that implementation of this amendment will require six additional positions and associated expenses. The budget bill, sHB 6940, as passed by the House, contains partial year funding in FY07, $200, 000 total, for this purpose in a newly established agency (the Office of Criminal Justice Policy and Planning) rather than the Office of Policy and Management. The annualized state cost of the agency is about $400, 000.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either House thereof for any purpose.
