AN ACT CONCERNING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR CRANIOFACIAL DISORDERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 700c of the general statutes be amended to require health insurers to cover medically necessary orthodontic processes and appliances which are part of a coordinated treatment plan for craniofacial disorders.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide parity in the coverage of craniofacial disorders by requiring health insurers to cover medically necessary orthodontic processes and appliances for the treatment of craniofacial disorders.
