Special Act No. 03-2
AN ACT CONCERNING THE EARLY RETIREMENT INCENTIVE PLAN.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (b) of section 6 of public act 03-2, the effective date of retirement pursuant to said section 6 may be deferred on a case by case basis for: (1) Employees of the Office of the State Treasurer with primary responsibility for the planning and issuance of debt or the in-house short-term investment of state and municipal funds, to not later than June 1, 2004; (2) upon the request of the personnel policies subcommittee of the Joint Committee on Legislative Management, employees of said committee determined to be critical to the legislative process, to not later than December 1, 2003; and (3) upon the request of and consistent with the memorandum of understanding signed by the CORE-CT Steering Committee comprised of the Comptroller, the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management, the Commissioner of Administrative Services and the Director of Information Technology, employees assigned to the CORE-CT project for three or more days per week, or determined to be critical to implementation of the CORE-CT project, to not later than June 1, 2004. Any such employee requested to stay beyond May 31, 2003, who refuses to do so shall continue to be eligible for the ERIP.
Sec. 2. (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (b) of section 6 of public act 03-2: (1) The provisions of said subsection (b) shall apply to state employees who are members of the Teachers' Retirement System, and (2) the provisions of said subsection (b) shall not be applicable to state employees who are part-time instructors at an institution of higher education.
