AN ACT CONCERNING THE PREVENTION OF TEENAGE SUICIDE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2002) The Department of Children and Families, in cooperation with other child serving agencies and organizations shall develop a public and private partnership to promote and enhance the objectives of the "Teen Screen" suicide prevention program, established at Harding High School in Bridgeport. The program shall continue to operate in Bridgeport and shall be directed at students at Harding High School. The program shall develop and use methods for early identification of teenagers with problems associated with teenage suicide such as depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, severe anxiety disorders, alcohol abuse and drug abuse. Said school shall fully cooperate with the department in the implementation of the public and private partnership. Within available appropriations, the Commissioner of Children and Families shall allocate funds to further the objectives of the program.
