An Act Concerning Sheet Metal Workers And New Home Construction.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Subdivision (5) of section 20-330 of the general statutes, as amended by section 1 of public act 99-253, is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof:
(5) "Heating, piping and cooling work" means (A) the installation, repair, replacement, maintenance or alteration of any apparatus for piping, appliances, devices or accessories for heating systems, [excluding] including sheet metal work, [;] and (B) the installation, repair, replacement, maintenance or alteration of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, boilers, including apparatus and piping for the generation or conveyance of steam and associated pumping equipment. [, but] Heating, piping and cooling work does not include solar work.
Sec. 2. (NEW) Sections 1 to 9, inclusive, of public act 99-246 do not apply to any person holding a professional or occupational license, registration or certificate issued pursuant to the general statutes, provided such person engages only in that work for which such person is licensed, registered or certified.
Sec. 3. This act shall take effect from its passage.
