SPECIAL ACT NO. 98-3
AN ACT VALIDATING A REFERENDUM IN THE TOWN OF
RIDGEFIELD AND VALIDATING CERTAIN BOND
AUTHORIZATIONS ADOPTED BY THE BERLIN TOWN COUNCIL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of
titles 7 and 9 of the general statutes and of the
charter of the town of Ridgefield, (1) the vote
cast by the electors and voters of the town of
Ridgefield at a referendum held on March 21, 1998,
relating to an appropriation of funds for the
acquisition of certain parcels of land for
municipal purposes, including use as a school
site, and the authorization of the issuance of
bonds, notes and temporary notes to defray said
appropriation, otherwise valid except for an error
in the published notice of said referendum with
respect to the voting hours, is validated, and (2)
all acts, votes and proceedings of the board of
selectmen and officers and officials of the town
of Ridgefield pertaining to such referendum,
otherwise valid except for such error, are
validated.
Sec. 2. Notwithstanding any provision of the
general statutes, any special act or the charter
of the town of Berlin, the Townwide Technology and
Code Compliance Bond authorizations adopted
September 9, 1997, and October 21, 1997,
respectively, by the Berlin Town Council,
otherwise valid except for an error in the notice
of the hearing on said authorizations, are
validated and effective as of said dates of
council action.
