Substitute Senate Bill No. 1007
SPECIAL ACT NO. 97-18
AN ACT CONCERNING MATHEWS PARK IN THE CITY OF
NORWALK.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 3 of number 36 of the
special acts of 1941 is amended to read as
follows:
The proceeds of such bonds shall be used (a)
for the purchase of said property as a site for a
public park and (b) to defray the expense of
improving the same for such purpose. ON AND AFTER
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT AND SUBJECT TO THE
BINDING REFERENDUM PROVISIONS IN SECTION 1-669 ET
SEQ. OF THE NORWALK CITY CHARTER, THE CITY OF
NORWALK MAY LEASE A PART OF THE MATHEWS ESTATE,
KNOWN AS MATHEWS PARK, FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A
NONPROFIT MUSEUM AND FACILITIES INCLUDING PARKING
FACILITIES RELATED TO SUCH NONPROFIT MUSEUM.
Sec. 2. This act shall take effect July 1,
1997.
