SPECIAL ACT NO. 97-10
AN ACT CONCERNING SPECIAL EDUCATION HEARINGS AND
SENIOR JUDGES OF THE SUPERIOR COURT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of
Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Notwithstanding any provision of the general
statutes, the Chief Court Administrator may assign
a senior judge of the superior court to
participate in a pilot program to improve special
education due process hearings. Under the pilot
program, the senior judge may conduct hearings on
behalf of the Department of Education and provide
other technical assistance to the department to
improve the hearing process. The Department of
Education shall be responsible for all expenses of
the pilot program.
