               PUBLIC ACT NO. 97-19


AN ACT CONCERNING CREDIT UNION MORTGAGE LOANS.


    Be  it  enacted  by  the  Senate  and House of
Representatives in General Assembly convened:
    Section  1.  Subsection (j) of section 36a-442
of  the  general  statutes  is  repealed  and  the
following is substituted in lieu thereof:
    (j)  Attorney  fees  IN  CONNECTION  WITH  ANY
MORTGAGE LOAN MADE BY A CONNECTICUT CREDIT  UNION,
including  preparation  of  THE  mortgage deed and
note, title search, waivers and  closing  fees  or
recording  fees, shall be [at the expense of] PAID
BY the borrower UNLESS OTHERWISE DETERMINED BY THE
CONNECTICUT CREDIT UNION.
    Sec.  2.  This  act shall take effect from its
passage.
