2011 Community Action Agencies

This study is focused on evaluating how community action agencies (CAAs) may assist state agencies in expediting eligibility determinations for select social service programs. The study also will examine if there is any duplication of effort between CAAs and state agencies and assess possible cost-savings opportunities.

Status

The PRI committee approved the scope of study at its September 27, 2011 meeting. Over the next few months, committee staff will carry out the study scope through interviews and records research, among other methods. The committee will likely hold a public hearing during the study, which is currently planned to be completed in April 2012.
