he Young Women's Leadership Program was established in 2006 as a project of the Connecticut General Assembly's Permanent Commission on the Status of Women. It is lead by a group of young women representing a wide variety of career fields and areas of expertise. These young women are leaders and catalysts for change and bring their energy, passion, and dedication for their work to the program.

Our Mission

Focusing on ages 18-35, the Young Women's Leadership Program will promote awareness and inspire and empower young women to emerge as leaders.

Our Structure

The Young Women's Leadership Program is directed by a steering committee lead by co-chairs, and includes two subcommittees:

• Legislative Committee
  Determines the yearly legislative priorities for the Young Women's Leadership Program. Acts as the liaison to the steering committee on legislative activity. Provides the Connecticut General Assembly with fact sheets on matters that affect young women.
   

• Outreach Committee
  Responsible for building membership. Includes creating informational materials about the Young Women's Leadership Program, and planning and implementing membership-building events. Also creates relationships and partnerships with other groups throughout the state.

Membership

Membership to the Young Women's Leadership Program is open to Connecticut women ages 18-35.

We'd love to have you join us as a member of the Young Women's Leadership Program. All members are encouraged to join our subcommittees to develop their own leadership qualities. You can also sign on as a member in support of our work, without volunteering your time on a committee.
