Interagency Task Force on Trafficking in Persons

Trafficking of persons is basically the buying, transporting, and selling of a human being for labor or sex.

The Interagency Task Force on Trafficking in Persons was established by the Connecticut General Assembly in 2004 by Special Act 04-8.  It includes elected officials, law enforcement officials, leaders of state agencies, and community-based advocates and providers of services to victims.  The job of the Task Force is to research the extent of trafficking in Connecticut as well as determine what services are available to victims and how well equipped Connecticut law enforcement agencies are to deal with the problem.
