A regular meeting of the Connecticut Law Revision Commission Domestic Violence Address Confidentiality Study Committee was held in Hearing Room 1C in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford on October 25, 2001 at 3:30 p.m. Members present were: Jon P. FitzGerald, Chair; Anne Courneyor; Judith Dixon; Robin Hammeal-Urban; Lisa Holden; Cheryl Kohler; Judge John Maloney; Marissa Morello; Robin Miller; Robert Mitchell; Colleen Murphy; Patrice Palombo; Christopher A. Pappas; Donald Philips; Marguerite Phillips; Natasha M. Pierre; Jo A. Roberts; Carmen Sierra; and Susan Storey. Also present was David D. Biklen.

Ms Roberts opened the meeting.

The members discussed section 1 and revised section 2 of the act.

The following revisions will be made:

1. Section 1

(4) The definition will read "any individual certified by the secretary..."

(11) After "any act" add "or conduct".

2. New section 3

Include the first, but delete the second bracketed sentence.

3. New section 4

In subsection (a), delete "sworn" and substitute "statement made under penalty of false statement."

Delete (6).

Delete subsection (b).

4. New section 5

After "approval" add "by the secretary".

Delete the bracketed sentence.

Delete subsection (b).

5. Delete new section 6.

6. New section 7

In subsection (b), after "addressed to the participant" add " at the participant’s new address".

Delete subsection (c).

A new draft of the act with these revisions will be distributed to the committee for the next meeting.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting date is set for Wednesday, November 7, 2001 at 3:30 p.m. in Hearing Room 1D in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
