Minutes of December 16, 1998 Meeting
A meeting of the Law Revision Commission Committee on Confidentiality of Medical Records was held commencing at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 1998 in Hearing Room 1A in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, Connecticut. Those attending were: Commission member William R, Breetz; advisors Charlotte Acquaviva, Larry Berliner, Marie Roberts for Elizabeth Burns, P. J. Cimino for the HMO Association, Ella James for Regina Dacier, Mary H. Hess, Jennifer Jackson, Peter Kane, Stephen Lewis, Susan Hamilton for Commissioner Kristine Ragaglia, Robert Scalettar, Anita L. Schepker, Jeannette C. Schreiber, and Nadine Schwab; and Commission staff David Hemond.
Mr. Hemond called the meeting to order and the minutes of the December 2 meeting were approved.
Under Agenda Item 2, a group representing providers, headed by Jeannette C. Schreiber, presented information for the study from the provider perspective. That presentation included a run down of how medical information flows, presented by Lorri Brown, Director of Practice Operations, Masonic Management Services, and a discussion of technical concerns related to YK2 and the difficulties of adapting to possible new rules, presented by Mark Anderson, Chief Information Officer for Yale-New Haven Health Systems. The balance of the meeting was taken up with a discussion of the ramifications of those matters.
The next meeting is set for January 13, 1999 at 4:00 p.m. in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, Connecticut. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
