Commissioner Rick Cruz

Rick Cruz - a lifelong native and resident of Bridgeport. He holds an A.S. in Respiratory Care from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.  He has worked at St. Vincent's Medical Center as a Respiratory Care Practitioner for 25 years where he has received several value recognition awards. He received the John and Louise Award from the CT Society of Respiratory Care for Outstanding Contributions to the Profession for starting an asthma program in Bridgeport.  Rick is a founding member of the Greater Bridgeport Latino Network and serves as Vice President and Chair of the Special Events Committee.  As an active community leader and volunteer, he sits on the Democratic Town Committee of Bridgeport, has been recognized for dedicating time and energy to the Latino community of Bridgeport with a number of organizations as with the Bridgeport Hispanic Heritage Committee, the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, the American Lung Association, American Red Cross and the National Kidney Foundation.  Rick was appointed to LPRAC in January of 2010, Re-appointed in 2011 by the Speaker of the House Christopher G. Donovan (84th Assembly District - Meriden) and is currently Chair of the LPRAC Public Information Committee.
