Enrique Marcano joined the
Manchester Board of Education in 2006. Mercano has served the
Board in various capacities including Board Secretary, co-chair
of the Personnel/Finance and Negotiations Committee, co-chair of
the Community Relations Committee and member of the Policy
Committee.
Since 2007, Marcano has worked as a
probation officer in the State’s Judicial Department. He is
responsible for pre-sentence investigations and ensures
probationers’ comply with the conditions set by the court. He
has also served as a counselor having assisted persons with
disabilities find employment. Marcano has also worked as a case
manager with Project Hartford.
In addition to his professional endeavors,
Marcano is active in the community. He is a member of the
Manchester Democratic Town Committee, the Manchester High School
Parent/Teachers Organization, and the Association of Puerto
Rican and Latinos of Manchester.
Marcano earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Public Administration from Central Connecticut State University
in New Britain. He is presently enrolled in the University of
Connecticut’s School of Social Work Master of Science Program.
