(SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL) - Internships are typically available in

PROGRAM: 10 weeks in duration: Spring: Jan- May Summer: June Aug
Fall: Sept Nov. 30-40 hours per
week.
Competitive pay. Subsidized housing provided for
students who live more than 40 miles from the ESPN office location.
Will provide course credit based on specific college requirements if
necessary. ELIGIBILITY: Currently enrolled college student in good
academic standing; available for employment within 12 months of
internship. Ability to work 30-40 hours per week. Interest and
passion for sports. Authorized to work in the United States for any
company.

SUMMER 2009 NEWSPAPER INTERNSHIPS
CHIPS
QUINN SCHOLARS PROGRAM
These
are paid newspaper internships that include a housing stipend and a
$1,000 scholarship.
The deadline is only about a month from now:
Oct. 15, 2008.
If you are interested in a career as a newspaper reporter, online
journalist, copy editor, photographer or graphic artist, this
internship is for you. If you have not had a lot of experience in
campus and/or community media, you will really benefit from this
opportunity.
The Chips Quinn Scholars program, sponsored by the Freedom Forum ,
provides training, internships and $1,600 in cash awards to college
students who are pursuing careers in journalism. College juniors,
seniors or recent graduates with majors or career goals in print
journalism are eligible to apply. Nominees must be majoring or
minoring in journalism or have firmly demonstrated an interest in
journalism as a career.
Scholars are matched with participating newspapers from across the
nation for 10- or 12-week internships. Nominees must be U.S.
citizens or permanent U.S. residents. Selected scholars participate
in a four-day orientation program in preparation for their
internship experiences and a week-long multimedia training program
at the conclusion of the internship.
You must have a car to be considered for this program.
HOW STUDENTS BENEFIT:
A paid 10 or 12-week internship at a daily newspaper.
A $1,100 scholarship.
A $500 housing stipend.
Mileage reimbursement to and from your internship.
Intensive, ongoing training by journalism professionals.
A four-day orientation program.
A week-long training program in multimedia journalism.
Networking with more than 1,000 Chips Quinn alumni.
