Colorectal Cancer Screening Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of death
among Latina women and the second deadliest cancer among Latino men.
Thought it can affect anyone and 90 percent of cases are preventable,
Hispanics, African-American, Alaska Natives and some American Indian
tribes are often diagnosed at later, less curable stages of the disease.
If you have a personal or family history of colorectal polyps,
colorectal cancer or inflammatory bowel disease; a family history of
hereditary or familial colon cancer syndrome; or you use tobacco, are
obese and or are sedentary, then you could be at greater risk of
colorectal cancer. It is recommended that all men and women begin
regular screening tests at age 50.
Visit your local community health center today for a free colorectal
cancer screening.
