Ann E. Negron
(Children and
Youth Development)
- Ann is a resident of Willimantic, CT. She is a 1982 graduate of the
University of Connecticut with a BA in Education. She has extensive
experience in working with the community in Willimantic, first as an
educator teaching various courses from the GED Exam preparation to ESL
in middle school and to Spanish as Foreign Language for the Windham
Public School system. For the past 12 years she has worked for the
State Department of Children and Families in various capacities such as
an Investigations Social Worker, Child Protective Services Social
Worker, and a Social Work Supervisor. Ann is highly skilled as an
interpreter/translator in English/Spanish, knowledge of community and
statewide resources, special education programs, and counsels’ families,
children and youth. In 1998 she received the University of
Connecticut’s Outstanding Alumni Award and in 1999 the State of
Connecticut’s Governor’s Service Award. Ann is also the proud mother of
her ten year-old son named Joshua.
President Pro Tempore Donald E. Williams appointed Ms. Negron to the
Commission in 2005
