Mission Statement

What We Do:

The Legislative Commissioners' Office ("LCO") serves legislators and other officials by (1) drafting legislation that expresses legislative intent in clear, concise and constitutionally sound language, (2) providing legal counsel, (3) publishing legislative documents, and (4) carrying out all other duties assigned by law to the Legislative Commissioners' Office.

How We Do It:

The Legislative Commissioners' Office advises its clients on what they need, provide them with what they want consistent with law, and do it right, do it quickly, and do it in a way that best helps them do their jobs better.

 

Commentary on Our Mission Statement

The Legislative Commissioners' Office provides services primarily to legislators, including legislative leaders, committees, and rank and file legislators, as well as legislative staff. Our mission is based on carrying out our responsibilities in ways that satisfy the expectations and needs of legislators and other people to whom we provide services.

Those we provide services to expect LCO to respond quickly, accurately and thoroughly in ways that enhance their ability to carry out their responsibilities effectively, such as with bills that are easy to read and understand.
