Blue Ribbon Commission to Study Affordable Housing

There is established a Blue Ribbon Commission to study affordable housing in Connecticut. Such study shall include, but not be limited to: The effectiveness of the Affordable Housing Land Use Appeals Procedure and other statutory provisions governing affordable housing; an examination of the extent to which local zoning regulations comply with the requirements of the Zoning Enabling Act to encourage the development of housing opportunities, including opportunities for multifamily dwellings, and to promote housing choice and economic diversity in housing, including housing for both low and moderate income households; and the extent to which the current market for housing in the state meets the housing needs of very low, low and moderate income households.
