The Connecticut Childhood Obesity Council was created by
the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) and the
Connecticut Commission on Children. Its mission includes
establishing state priorities for combating childhood obesity and
coordinating statewide initiatives.
The Council is co-chaired by
Mario H. Garcia, M.P.H., public health services manager for the
Connecticut Department of Public Health, and Thomas R. Brooks, J.D., director of
policy and research analysis for the Connecticut Commission on
Children.
