Parent leaders graduate

More than 250 parents filed into the atrium of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford on June 20 to graduate from two parent leadership programs led by the Commission: the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) and Parents Supporting Educational Excellence (Parents SEE). They left as community leaders.

Commission on Children Executive Director Elaine Zimmerman and True Colors Inc. Executive Director Robin McHaelen recently led a discussion on bullying at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford. They focused on the programs, tools, and interventions available, including Connecticut's new anti-bullying law.
