Parents are invited to attend a workshop, "Parents
Empowered! Navigating the Process of Effective Advocacy,"
that will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Albertus
Magnus College in New Haven. It is co-sponsored by the
Connecticut branch of the International Dyslexia Association
and the Haskins Literacy Initiative, as part of Haskins'
summer institute, "Building Better Readers." Commission on
Children Executive Director Elaine Zimmerman will present
the keynote speech, "Parents: The Missing Constituency on
Reading."
