We believe that parent involvement is a vital part of
a good early childhood program. We strive to create
mutual respect between parents and teachers to form a
partnership for the benefit of the child. We encourage
daily communication between parents and CCDC staff.
Parent participation is the key to development of a
high-quality center. We offer a wide variety of
suggestions for ways that parents can become involved,
make CCDC a better place for the children and have fun!
For example, parents can participate in the following
areas:
- Direct participation on CCDC committees (such as
Fundraising, Special Events)
- Fundraising
- Involvement with day-to-day activities (i.e., reading
stories, do a cooking activity, share a special interest
or hobby)
- Educational and community activities
- Child Advocacy Events
- Editor of the school newsletter
- Field trip supervision (this is one area in which we
envision all parents will help so that our children will
be able to participate in the rich variety of
experiences that we have planned for them outside of
CCDC)
- Be a member of the CCDC Board of Directors
- Sit on the CCDC Advisory Committee

CCDC has an Open Door policy and parent are always
welcome to visit as their schedules permit.

Dear CCDC Staff:
Fourteen years, four boys and countless memories
later, it is time for our family to say good-bye. It is
almost impossible to find the words to thank you for
the excellent care and love you have provided to
our boys. CCDC has been a place for our boys to
experience many firsts and to explore the world in a
safe and nurturing way.
Over the last 14 years, I have had quite a few people say to me, “It must be difficult to drop off your kids at
daycare.” I can honestly say that while some
mornings have had their challenges, I have never
found it difficult. CCDC, or “school,” as we call it, has
been a home away from home for all of my kids.
Even today, my older boys talk about their favorite
field trips to the farm to make ice cream or to the
pumpkin farm. Other favorites include trips to the park, the library on the city bus and, of course, the
carousel. While I have missed my boys during the day, it has been a great comfort to have a safe and loving learning environment for our boys to grow.
Make no mistake, that unique environment is a direct result of the time, effort and dedication of you, the
staff. I know that if I asked some of you who have
been at CCDC for as long as we have, you all would remember special characteristics and the different
personality quirks of each of our boys. That quality is what makes CCDC so special and we feel fortunate to have found you.
We have wonderful memories to take away with us and will enjoy seeing our boys build on the
foundation that you have helped to form. We cannot
thank you enough for the important role that you
have played in helping to raise our children.
With special thanks, The Bates Family - June 2010
