Building admittance is only available to those who take a guided tour. Visitors must remain with the tour guide during the entire tour (1 hour). The Capitol is not open for self-guided tours on Saturdays.

  Group Reservations   Parking

Group reservations may be made by calling (860) 240-0222 weekdays 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., or by using the on-line request form under "Request a Tour". Student groups must be 3rd Grade or above; see Guidelines.

Limited free parking is available in the Legislative Office Building parking garage (Monday to Friday) and on the north Capitol grounds.

  Capitol Information and Tours

Tour the Connecticut State Capitol

Capitol Information and Tours at the Connecticut State Capitol is operated by the League of Women Voters of Connecticut Education Fund and sponsored by the Joint Committee on Legislative Management, Connecticut General Assembly.

General tourist information centers are located outside room 101 in the State Capitol and on the first floor, west entrance in the Legislative Office Building.

Self-guided tour booklets about the State Capitol, Capitol statuary and the Legislative Office Building are available at these locations and may be used during regular business hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Free one-hour guided tours of the State Capitol and Legislative Office Building follow this schedule:

Monday - Friday (Closed for all State Holidays, the day after Thanksgiving and December 24 - January 1)
9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15

During July and August
9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15, 2:15

Saturday (April through October) (Closed Saturdays of holiday weekends)
10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15, 2:15

Weekday tours leave from the League of Women Voters Capitol Information and Tours Desk, first floor, west entrance of the Legislative Office Building, located on Capitol Avenue near Broad Street in Hartford.

Saturday tours (April through October) start at the southwest (Capitol Avenue) entrance to the Capitol.
