Commissioner, Kristen Clark

 Kristen M. Clark is a native of West Hartford, Connecticut who graduated from Watkinson Day School and Howard University, with a BS in Sociology, before going on to pursue a Master in Social Work at the University of Connecticut. Kristen has been employed with the Village for Families and Children, Inc. for fourteen years and is currently the agency's Community Ambassador. At the Village she is responsible for connecting with key community and corporate organizations, developing key legislative relationships, coordinating volunteers, promoting Village programs, and cultivating media and fund-raising prospects. Previously she has worked as a supervisor, therapist and case manager in the Village's foster care program.

Kristen is involved as an officer with several organizations in the greater Hartford area including Watkinson Day School where she is Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Committee on Trustees (Governance). She currently serves as President of the Howard University Alumni Club of Greater Hartford and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she is the immediate past Asst. Secretary of the Eastern Region.  In the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kristen is the Journalist and a member of several committees including, but not limited to, Budget and Finance, Social Action, Policies and Procedures and Public Relations and Technology.  Kristen is also a member of the Board of Directors for Community Health Center in Hartford.  On a statewide level, Kristen is a commissioner for the African American Affairs Commission of the state of Connecticut's General Assembly.

Kristen is also active in the Greater Hartford community through her current and past public service activities including being an adult achiever mentor in the YMCA Minority Achiever Program and a mentor in the Delta Academy. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers, the Greater Hartford Alliance of Black Social Workers, the NAACP and past member of Hartford Communities that Care Advisory Board and the Neighborhood Enforcement and Stabilization Team(NEST).  Kristen serves on the Development Committee of the Open Hearth as well as the Corporate Intern and Young Professionals committee of the MetroHartford Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
