Public and Special Acts  

The Legislative Commissioners' Office publishes the Public and Special Acts enacted by the General Assembly every year.  To search for Public and Special Acts, select this link:  Search for Public and Special Acts. Public and Special Acts are distinguished as follows:

• Public Acts are laws of general applicability, which are incorporated into the General Statutes, and, starting in 2006, the Supplements thereto. The General Statutes are published at the start of each odd-numbered year, and the Supplements at the start of each even-numbered year.  

• The Public Acts enacted in 2007 and 2008 have been incorporated into the General Statutes of Connecticut, revised to 2009.

• The Public Acts enacted in 2009 will be incorporated into the 2010 Supplement to the General Statutes of Connecticut. It is anticipated that the printed version of the 2010 Supplement will be available in February 2010, and the online version in March 2010.

• Special Acts are laws that affect few people or entities (such as the incorporation of a company) or are of limited duration (such as the budget and short-term task forces to study issues).  Special Acts are not generally incorporated into the General Statutes of Connecticut.
