How To Help Haiti Earthquake Victims

The best way to help the three million people in Haiti affected by a destructive earthquake is through monetary donations.

Aid relief organizations are on the ground in the Caribbean nation which is the poorest in the Western Hemisphere.

Here is more information on how you can help the Haiti earthquake victims.

You can call 3-1-1 in New York City to donate.

  BLOOD DRIVE

STATE CAPITOL - HARTFORD,CT

ROOM 310

To Schedule and appointment call (860) 240-8555

Why is it important that African-Americans give blood?

Blood that closely matches a patient's is less likely to be rejected by the patient and can mean fewer complications after a transfusion.  Genetically-similar blood is superior for people who need repeated blood transfusions, for conditions like sickle cell anemia.

Increasing African-American donations is vital because blood types O and B, the blood types of about 70 percent of African-Americans, are the blood types most in demand. Click on the links below to view informational brochures.
