AN ACT CONCERNING "BLUE ALERTS".
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a "blue alert" system to alert the public when a law enforcement agent has been seriously injured or killed or is missing, and law enforcement agencies are searching for a suspect who is considered an imminent threat, and to set forth criteria that must be met for the activation of the system.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish a system to alert the public when a law enforcement agent has been seriously injured or killed or is missing and solicit the public's assistance in apprehending the suspect.
