JOURNAL OF THE SENATE

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

The Senate was called to order at 3: 25 p. m. , the President in the Chair.

The prayer was offered by the Deputy Chaplain, Reverend Dr. Barbara Headley of Hartford, Connecticut.

The following is the prayer:

Eternal God, Sustainer of all creation, ruler over the nations and governments, as this Senate body gathers we ask your presence and guidance to work together to bring into existence the ideals and principles of freedom, justice and love for our fellow citizens. There are decisions our Senate must make today, decisions concerning life and death, justice and equality. Give our legislators wisdom and courage. Grant them the boldness and the conviction to live out our country's founding principles of justice, in the matters that they will deliberate over, matters that will effect the lives and future of the citizens of our state. We ask also Eternal God that you will bless our Senators, their families, and their staff, that in their lives they may experience your presence and guidance. This is our prayer in God's holy and righteous name. Amen.
