AN ACT CONCERNING THE MINIMUM WAGE.
AMENDMENT
LCO No.: 4002
File Copy No.: 141
House Calendar No.: 120
OFA Fiscal Note
State Impact: See Below
Municipal Impact: See Below
Explanation
The amendment strikes the underlying bill and its associated fiscal impact.
The amendment eliminates the requirement that certain employers provide paid sick leave to employees. Repealing paid sick leave is not expected to have a fiscal impact on the state. However, it may result in savings to municipalities.
The amendment requires that the pay rate for any kind of paid leave must be at least 85% of the minimum wage. This provision is not anticipated to have an impact on the state. To the extent that any municipal employees receive paid leave rates at less than 85% of minimum wage, municipalities would incur a cost associated with an increase in their paid leave rates.
