Explanation
The amendment results in a potential revenue gain by creating a new Class A misdemeanor for certain offenses to bodies of water. Each offense will be fined up to $2, 000 with potential imprisonment of up to 1 year. It is anticipated that less than 10 fines will be imposed on an annual basis, resulting in a revenue gain of less than $20, 000, and no sentences will be imposed for this offense.
